who am I?
It is THE existential question, right?
I think about how to answer this question far too much. The only answer I have settled on is that I am a work in progress. Always learning, always changing, never comfortable, never still.
Professionally, I am a corporate real estate executive cross lawyer. I’ve worked in a number of organisations across Australia and the United Kingdom. I sit on panels and Boards and occasionally speak my mind about things that either mean the most to me, or things I think I do well.
I’m a wife to my husband who I met when we were at high school. I can’t say many decisions I made when I was 15 were right, but to choose to spend my life with him was probably my one and only best decision.
I’m also a mother to my two girls. As my husband says, they are everything good and bad about the two of of us and I think that is just a beautiful way to describe the searingly bright and brilliant loving chaos that these two angels bring to our lives and to the world.
They are the inspiration behind my journey into writing. With my first born, my Notes app was filled with incoherent ramblings, snippets of verse and a bunch of links to sleep programs and routine helpers. Out of that mess a creativity was sparked within me - one that I could only truly explore after the birth of my second born, ultimately leading me to publish my first book, Car Naps.
So I guess professionally, I’m a corporate executive and published author. I should go update that LinkedIn profile now…
